On Monday, November 9, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., a Kilgen Theatre Organ performance will be held in the Devon Great Hall at the Oklahoma History Center, featuring organist Clark Wilson accompanying the silent film My Best Girl (1927). My Best Girl is a 1927 American silent romantic comedy film directed by Sam Taylor, starring Mary Pickford and Charles “Buddy” Rogers. Charles Rosher received an Academy Award nomination for his cinematography of this film in 1928. Clark Wilson is one of the most prominent and recognized scorers of silent photoplays in America today. He works exclusively with the organ to develop historically accurate musical accompaniments as they were performed in major picture palaces during the heyday of silent film.
