After moving from Japan at 15, Kansei Yasuda attended UMass Dartmouth, where he first dreamed of becoming a stand-up comedian. Now he’s returning to New Bedford for a special Homecoming Edition of his RESPECT!! Solo Comedy Tour. Step into the uniquely weird world of Kansei Yasuda. Known for his calm, slow-paced delivery, sharp humor, and deep dedication to ramen, Kansei blends awkward honesty with absurd observations. His punchlines sneak up on you like Pearl Harbor and hit like a kamikaze attack, leaving you with an “aw” like Hiroshima and Nagasaki. After earning a Golden Ticket on Kill Tony, he’s bringing his signature style to audiences across North America. Kansei will perform a 40–45 minute solo set, with a few of his hilarious comedian friends kicking off the night before he takes the stage. Comedian Bio Kansei Yasuda is a stand-up comedian known for his slow-burn, deadpan delivery and sharp, unexpected perspective. His comedy dives into the absurd and the uncomfortable, finding laughs in places most people avoid. Originally from Tokyo and now based in Toronto, he has performed across North America, earned a Golden Ticket on Kill Tony, and opened for Adam Ray.
