Lawrence Public Library is delighted to partner again with the Kansas Book Festival! The 2026 event at Washburn University Library in Topeka celebrates literary life in Kansas by connecting thousands of readers and writers, and by creating opportunities for community, storytelling, and joy. This year, the festival happens on Saturday, September 26th from 9 am to 4 pm. It's free and open to the public. The keynote author is award-winning poet and essayist Ben Lerner who is a Topeka native (his parents now live in Lawrence!) His new book Transcriptions has received rave reviews from book critics everywhere. Get yourself to Topeka to hear Ben, along with Lawrence authors Laura Moriarty, Amanda Sellet, Giselle Anatol, Megan Bannen, Sarah Henning, Sonja Czarnecki, Vanessa Eicher, Chelan David, Tessa Gratton, Becca Coffindaffer, Melissa Fite Johnson, and Matt Beat.
