Juniors Pickleball Tournament

The Stecoah Valley Center is hosting the Juniors Pickleball Tournament to foster competitive fun in young people as players and spectators. Tournament is Round Robin. Each player plays 4 games, each time with a different partner and different opponents. Game schedule will be posted once registration is complete. Ages brackets are 9U, 10-13, and 14-17. Games are to 15 points, must win by 2. Scoring is per rally. You do not have to be serving to score. If a server’s team wins 4 points in a row (not counting the rally to gain the serve), the serve goes to the next person. Each turn, if a player misses on the first serve, that player may have a redo. At the end of each game, players report their scores to the Tournament Facilitator. The players with the most accumulated points will be the champions. If necessary, there will be playoff match to 11 points, must win by 2. Competitors would chose their own partners. Matches are self-monitored. Roaming Court Helpers will be close by to answer questions, and rule sheets will be available. Pickleballs will be provided. If any player has a problem with a pickleball, that person is to bring it to the Tournament Facilitator who will hold it until the end of the tournament before returning it to its owner. Games begin at 6pm on both courts. Games will be back-to-back with a 5-minute grace period between matches (unless a player is involved in a game on the other court). Absence at game time will be considered a forfeit. This is an outdoor tournament. There are no refunds for weather-related cancellations. We will make every effort to complete all events. The Tournament Facilitator reserves the right to change format, shorten games, or make any other changes she feels will help complete the event.
