The first Saturday of June is National Trails Day, a day to give back to our trails. Come join me at Pocahontas State Park for some trail improvement projects. When June 6, 2026. 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Celebrate National Trails Day by giving back to your park and making a lasting impact on the trails you love to explore! Join park staff for a morning maintaining hiking, biking, and multi-use trails. Volunteers will assist with a variety of trail improvement projects, which may include clearing debris, improving drainage, trimming vegetation, repairing tread surfaces, and enhancing overall trail sustainability. Whether you’re an experienced trail worker or brand new to volunteering, all skill levels are welcome. This is a great opportunity to learn about trail stewardship, meet fellow outdoor enthusiasts, and help ensure safe and enjoyable trails for the entire community. Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and dress for the weather. Bringing water, sunscreen, and work gloves is recommended. Tools and guidance will be provided.
