July 4th Walk/ Ice Cream & Pier Walk to a Magical Night of Fireworks! at PIERMONT LIBRARY in Piermont, NY on Saturday, July 4, 2026.
Come celebrate summer and the holiday weekend with 360 degrees of Fireworks minus the noise and bigger crowds! It's one of my favorite events! Come early for an additional walk to Tallman or Half Moon Park and or ice cream at the delectable Piermont Creamery. Later, enjoy a short sunset walk under 3 miles, paved and flat to the end of the pier for an extravaganza of firework displays up and down the river! There are a few benches and other places to sit on the pier or you can carry a chair down. I prefer to stand so I can get the full 360 degree experience!! If you are unable to do the walk, you can set up your chair near the gazebo or at Parelli Park nextdoor, by the community garden and library parking lot and view numerous firework displays from there. Bring Bugspray, water, layers for the night air and headlamps or flashlights for the walk back. Glow in the dark bracelets, necklaces and Bubbles always welcome! MEETUP by THE GAZEBO overlooking the Hudson across the street from Flywheel Park at 6:00 pm for an extra walk to Tallman or Half Moon Park and or ice cream. MEETUP BY THE GAZEBO AT 8pm for pier walk. INCLEMENT WEATHER CANCELS so ALWAYS check the day of an event for any possible changes. DON'T FORGET to give yourself extra driving time as it is a holiday. There will also be celebrations going on during the afternoon in Piermont for the "250th anniversary" so expect that it may be busier than usual. Directions : From Route 9W follow signs to Piermont Business District. Follow winding road (Ash Street- which makes a very sharp right turn), across Piermont Avenue at bottom of hill and the library will be on your left, after the bank and diagonally across the street from Confettis restaurant. When finding a new place it is always advisable to leave yourself some extra time. Park in the town lots, behind Confettis, or in the lot on the side of the library. Let's enjoy our towns on the Hudson! Here is a little history about the Flywheel in Flywheel…
