This exhibition features avant-garde, sculptural designs from Jontay Kahm's vibrant collections, considering life, death and the hereafter. Blending traditional Indigenous techniques with contemporary fashion, these striking works use color, texture and movement to evoke embodied experience, emotion and awe. Nancy Strickland Chavis, director and curator of The Museum of the Southeast Indian at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, serves as guest curator for The Jule's first exhibition exploring fashion as fine art. The Jule Collins Smith Museum will be closed to the public on Auburn University home football game days.
