Jigsaw Puzzle Competition

Grab your team, order a pizza and a round of drinks, and get ready to puzzle! This is a fun, laid-back competition- speed matters, but so does enjoying yourself. Teams may have up to four members. All participants must be 21 or older. Each team will receive the same puzzle. Puzzle boxes will be placed face down and cannot be opened until the judge starts the official clock. Teams will compete to complete the puzzle first. The competition consists of one round with a two-hour time limit. A Relaxed Race Against the Clock The official clock will be loosely enforced. Throughout the competition, the judge will call breaks for everyone so participants have time to enjoy their pizza, take drinking and refill breaks, use the restroom, relax and have fun! When a break is called, all teams must stop working and the official competition clock will be paused. Puzzle time will resume when the judge announces that the break is over. Determining the Winners If a team finishes within the time limit, its finish time will determine its placement. If no team completes the puzzle (this has never happened) the winner will be the team with the fewest loose pieces remaining when time expires. In the event of a tie (also has never happened), tied teams may receive an additional five minutes of competition time. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams! Additional Rules Outside tools-including puzzle-piece scoops, sorting trays and sorting boards- may not be brought in or used.
