Acclaimed Haitian-American trumpeter, composer, and bandleader Jean Caze leads his dynamic five-piece ensemble in a powerful performance of original music that bridges cultures and musical traditions. Drawing from his Haitian heritage and deep roots in jazz, Caze creates a distinctive sound where Caribbean rhythms meet sophisticated harmony, soulful melodies, and fearless improvisation. From infectious grooves and captivating melodies to moments of spontaneous musical exploration, Caze and his ensemble bring an energy to the stage that is both deeply rooted and unmistakably contemporary. PERFORMER BIO: JEAN CAZE (pronounced: jhan / koz) Trumpet Artist • Composer • Educator Haitian-American trumpeter and composer Jean Caze brings a sound that is deeply rooted in jazz while carrying the rhythm, spirit, and history of Haiti. Known for his rich, expressive tone on trumpet, flugelhorn, and conch shell, Caze has performed and recorded with artists including Herbie Hancock, Aretha Franklin, Michael Bublé, and Wyclef Jean. A graduate of the Manhattan School of Music and Florida International University, Caze has developed a musical voice that bridges cultures and traditions. His albums Amédé and Dezòd explore that connection through original music that moves between jazz improvisation and the vibrant rhythms of Haiti.
