Jazz Night with Helene Smart

Helene Smart has been invited back to sing at the Cellar Cat --- Kingston's cozy little wine bar and jazz club on the main drag, and I hope you can make a visit. She will be performing with Jonas Myers on the grand piano. Jonas is an amazingly talented artist, and she feels very lucky he is willing to bring his warmth and interpretations to her song choices, and I've asked him to serve up a few tunes of his own. We'll be offering some less well known Great American Songbook standards, and also, because this is a cabaret-style, living room/listening environment, mixing things up with songs by Paul Simon, Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, and more. Music, songs, and a story or two from 5:30 to 7:30. To ensure a seat, go to CellarCat.com or call 1-360-979-7925. For those who haven't already discovered Cellar Cat, it is a wonderful spot for music, excellent wine offered by people who know what they are doing (as stated on their website, "We don't serve swill."), plus cheeses, chocolates and charcuterie. It is a good place to know about — especially when the week-end line-up features highly recognized jazz artists.
