Jazz Ensemble II ∙ Directions: Electric Miles
@ The Miles Davis Jazz Studies Program celebrates Miles Davis in his centennial year! Jazz Ensemble II presents “Directions: Electric Miles,” a program of Mr. Davis’ electric music from the years spanning 1968–91, in all-new arrangements! Davis’ trailblazing spirit made an indelible mark on the history of American music, and the Jazz Studies program dedicates their spring 2026 semester to his musical legacy. The Miles Davis Jazz Studies Program at UNCG is a unique and innovative undergraduate jazz program designed to emulate the traditional process of learning jazz, through a combination of mentorship, real-world playing experiences, and a communal approach to learning. Although the program is housed in one of the largest music schools in the Southeast, it is kept intentionally small, resulting in an intensive and highly personalized learning environment. UNCG offers the following degree programs for students interested in studying Jazz: Bachelor of Music (B.M.) – Performance Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Jazz Studies TicketPriceAdult$16.20Seniors$10.20Military$10.20Students$10.20Ticket prices include a $3.00 processing fee and applicable sales tax.
