Arm yourself with a good self-introduction and be ready to engage in casual conversation with people you come across. Put in an active effort. Friendships rarely just happen. Say yes to safe, socially distanced opportunities. On the flip side: Have a good reason to say no. Remember: You set the expectations for your own space. Keeping up with a routine can offer strong support to virtual friendships. Use your network however you can. Be kind to yourself. It might be hard to make friends at first. Remember, there are people who want to be your friend*.
