iRide Volunteer Driver Program - Informational Meeting

Room #115. More than a ride, it’s a lifeline! The Town of Irondequoit, in partnership with Lifespan of Greater Rochester, is offering iRide, a volunteer driver program, for Irondequoit residents aged 60 and older, beginning in 2027! But first, volunteer drivers are NEEDED! If you have a few hours a month, you can make a difference in the lives of Irondequoit’s older adults. Simply provide friendly transportation to medical appointments using your own vehicle. By volunteering as a driver, you’re doing more than providing a ride, you’re helping neighbors stay independent, connected, and engaged in the community they call home. Supplemental insurance provided, and if eligible, partial mileage reimbursement. Informational meetings for iRide volunteers will be held at the Irondequoit Library on Thursday, November 12, at 10:00 AM, and Wednesday, November 18 at 4:00 PM. Please attend to learn more about volunteering to help your neighbors get to medical and other appointments. As an iRide volunteer driver, the hours you spend are flexible and work within your schedule. Training is provided. Join the iRide volunteer driver team at Lifespan! For more information call 585-498-4040 or visit lifespan-roch.org for more information. Lifespan is a regional nonprofit organization providing information, guidance and services that help older adults take on the challenges and opportunities of longer life.
