Introduction to West Coast Swing

If you don't dance West Coast Swing ..... this is the class for you!!! Date: Mondays, Oct 5, 12, 19 & 26 Time: 7-8:30pm Class: Intro to West Coast Swing Instructor: Mike Recant Cost: $15/person per class The class will start from scratch by teaching basic WCS beginner skills and will progress through four sessions to cover WCS technique for the core pushes, passes and whips. This is similar to the material in the Beginner Plus Series from earlier this year. The material to be included: WCS Technique: Dance frame (connection, lead&follow) Slot Timing Foot technique Starter Step Anchoring (anchor step, posting) WCS Patterns: Sugar Push (Push Break) Left Side Pass Underarm Turn (Right Side Pass) Sugar Tuck Passing Tuck Inside Turn (roll) Right Torque Turn Basket Whip Whip (three endings) The class assumes no prior knowledge of West Coast Swing*. It is perfect for dancers who have always wanted to try this dance. Each week starts with a review or the prior week's material in case you miss a week. Reservations and dance partners not required!
