About this event

Fabric is a fantastic and flexible substrate to print onto and can be translated into a great range of applications. This hands-on introductory class will provide instruction on the screenprinting process specifically for fabric—with a twist: using fluorescent ink under black lights! Whether you’re gearing up for Halloween or want to impress at your next party, your prints will certainly stand out in a crowd! During class we’ll cover sourcing printing equipment and materials, preparing your personal artwork for screenprinting, various artistic printing methods, heat setting a printed image, and fabric care. Upon registration, we’ll provide guidelines on how to source and/or create your images in advance. In addition to whatever fabric you choose to bring with you, we’ll supply several patch-size fabric squares and black cotton tote bags for you to print on—just in time for the trick-or-treat season! Students will also need to supply additional items of their own—please see the materials section below for details.
