Introduction to Monoprints

About this event

Learn the absolute basics to printmaking in this beginner workshop. Explore basic printmaking applications on paper with layered monotypes, while learning to work with color, composition and printing on an etching press. It is an easy, fun, intuitive process with many possibilities. We will combine painterly brushstrokes, use natural elements like dried flowers and leaves; along with other found materials to create impressions, marks, pattern and embossments. Get inspired and create your own one of a kind work! This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
