This welcoming course, led by Rabbi Scot Weiner, is designed for adults of all faiths, backgrounds, and levels of familiarity with Jewish life. Together, we will explore the foundations of Judaism, including Jewish history, beliefs, holidays, rituals, values, sacred texts, connection to Israel, and contemporary Jewish life. Whether you are encountering Judaism for the first time, part of an interfaith family, considering conversion, or seeking to reconnect with your Jewish roots, this class offers a thoughtful and engaging introduction. No prior knowledge is required—just curiosity, openness, and a desire to learn. Join us as we explore the richness of Jewish tradition and its enduring relevance in our lives today. Series: $400 About the Instructor Rabbi Scott Weiner, founding rabbi of Tamid Westchester, was ordained as a rabbi by the Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion in 2004. He also holds a Master’s of Hebrew Letters from HUC-JIR. Rabbi Scott obtained a graduate certificate in Nonprofit Management and Leadership from the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs at SUNY Albany, where he also received his BA in Judaic Studies. Prior to founding Tamid Westchester, Scott was the senior rabbi at Temple Israel of New Rochelle for 11 years and the rabbi of the Hebrew Tabernacle Congregation in Manhattan for five years. He is also a former camp director, youth director, and Israel guide. Rabbi Scott is the immediate past president of the Inter-religious Coalition of New Rochelle, and he serves many civic and social justice organizations. He is a member of the Central Conference of American Rabbis.
