About this event
This class will provide an introduction to ceramic art: historical and contemporary examples, the process of clay transforming into ceramic, and offer a hands-on exploration of wheel-thrown pottery. The pottery wheel is a wonderful tool for generating pottery forms. Students will learn to prepare the clay for use, center the clay on the wheel, open the clay up, and raise the walls. We will discuss how glazes can be used to finish a ceramic piece and students will be able to leave with finished work.
