Intro to Sewing for Adults

1st Floor Meeting Room. Always wanted to learn to sew? You'll need to know how to use a sewing machine; we can help! Registration required. --- All supplies, including the sewing machine, will be provided. What you will take away from this workshop: Needles - sizes and what they are used for Threading the machine & filling a bobbin Inserting the bobbin & bringing up the bobbin thread Stitches and what they are used for. Which ones are most common, and focusing on the ones you will likely start off with. Stitch Length and Stitch Width Seam Allowance and what are some common seam allowances we use Troubleshooting - most common sewing mistakes for new sewists and what to do if a problem arises! All students will receive a kit that will include handouts, thread, bobbin, snips, fabric sampler, pencil, and notebook!
