About this event
Now that you've explored basic records such as census and vital records, are you wondering what to do next? Intermediate Genealogy Part 2 will help you move beyond the basics and dive deeper into your family history research. This class will teach you how to access and use the following records: directories, land records, immigration and passenger records, naturalization records, court records, and resources related to lineage societies. You will also learn new terms, such as gazetteer, grantor, grantee, metes & bounds, sections & townships, immigration ports, wills, probate, testate, intestate, declaration of intent, final decrees, and DNA testing, along with genealogical society abbreviations like DAR and SAR. These are terms that often confuse newer researchers, and we'll show you exactly where and how to use them. This FREE, three-hour class will give you the clues you've been looking for to take your family history to the next level. We will also review the genealogical databases available at your library and accessible from home. Handouts will be provided!
