About this event
An Interactive Workshop with Eliane Abdel-Malek What does it feel like to struggle with learning—even when you’re intelligent and trying your best? Join us at Tavern Blue for an interactive workshop exploring the everyday experiences of children and adults with learning disabilities. Learning disabilities are differences in how the brain processes information. They may affect reading, writing, math, memory, organization, communication, and understanding instructions. They are not a reflection of intelligence, effort, or potential. Through hands-on activities, guided simulations, real-life examples, and discussion, participants will gain a deeper understanding of learning differences. What You’ll Learn: • What learning disabilities are—and are not • Dyslexia, dysgraphia & dyscalculia • Why intelligent children may struggle academically • How processing speed, working memory & organization affect learning • How learning difficulties can affect confidence and well-being • Practical strategies for parents, educators, home & classroom • When additional evaluation or support may be needed Who Should Attend? • Parents & family members • Teachers & school staff • Childcare professionals • Education & child-development students • Adults with learning disabilities • Anyone interested in understanding how people learn differently About the Presenter Eliane AbdelMalek is a certified ADHD coach through ADDCA in New York and an educator with 24+ years of experience.
