In Person RfR Support Group Kansas City

The Kansas City, MO Recovering From Religion support group will meet the the second Thursday of each month from 7-9pm (CST/CDT). Attendees can remain anonymous if they so choose and are not required to tell their story if they do not wish to, but everyone will be welcomed to do so. Agenda: * Opening announcements * Everyone introduces themselves briefly. (You do not have to give a real name) * General discussion on topics related to religious recovery, doubt, or non-belief. No preaching or proselytizing allowed. * Closing announcements including information and resources of interest The primary focus of a Recovering From Religion support group is to provide ongoing and personal support to individuals as they let go of their religious beliefs. This transitional period is an ongoing process that can result in a range of emotions, as well as a ripple effect of consequences throughout an individual’s life. As such, the support meetings are safe and anonymous places to express these doubts, fears, and experiences without biased feedback or proselytizing. We are here to help each other through this journey. This group meets in the Kansas City Oasis community center which was at one time a church building. KC Oasis is a secular organization and there is no religious iconography, stained glass, or pews. Street parking is available in the area. There is a small parking lot on the south side of the building with a handicap accessible entrance reserved for people with mobility needs. RfR has an immense collection of well-curated resources available as you go through your journey.
