About this event

Description: Play! Laugh! Act! And grow in this interactive 8-week class designed to equip young actors with tools from improvisational theater. Improv is a practice that strengthens actors’ ability to handle the unexpected, unlock playfulness, stay in the moment, and act as an outstanding ensemble member! Through a variety of activities and games, they’ll explore essential skills like storytelling, character development, and teamwork, while taking silliness seriously. Whether you’ve taken an improv class before or this is a new adventure, this class is for everyone to exercise those creative muscles. This class will culminate in a final showcase that students build with their teacher for friends and family to come watch and enjoy at the last session! Teaching Artist: Betsy Harper Tuition: Sliding Scale $25 – $350 Access-for-All: Our access-for-all price sliding scale addresses financial inequities in our community to help lower barriers to students wanting to experience arts education. $350 is the true price that helps us cover operating costs to put on the camps. We ask that families that can afford to pay the higher end of the tuition do so that families in our community who would find that cost a barrier can pay on the lower end of the scale. Scholarships: If families still find that the lowest end of the sliding scale is still a barrier, we encourage them to email education@olyft.org to ask how fully funded scholarships work.
