About this event
Beginners are welcome for this experiential movement class. Come get in touch with your body through easy movement! Through simple guided invitations, we’ll explore movement, rhythm, space, stillness, and sensation, with opportunities for individual exploration as well as partnering, interaction, and group exercises. There is no choreography to learn and no particular way you are expected to move. Instead, you’ll be invited to follow your own curiosity and discover movement in ways that feel natural and meaningful to you. This is not a performance or goal-oriented class. There is nothing to perfect, accomplish, or demonstrate. The focus is on the experience itself: noticing, exploring, responding, and discovering what becomes possible when we give ourselves permission to move without having to get it “right.” This class is for anyone curious about exploring the possibilities of their body, movement, and creative expression. Movements and activities can be adapted to accommodate different bodies, mobility, energy levels, and comfort levels. Come as you are, participate at your own pace, and explore individually and/or together. No previous dance or movement experience is needed. Teens welcome with a parent or guardian. Please sign up using the form below, so we know you’re coming. There will be four of these free classes before the end of the year, all on Thursdays: Oct 15th, Nov 5th, Nov 19th and Dec 3rd, from 3:00 to 3:45pm.
