Immersive Art in the Age of Spatial Intelligence: What ChatGPT Can't Do

It has no body, no physics, no real sense of how objects relate in 3D. That limitation is pushing AI into its next frontier: **world models**, systems trained on video, 3D scans, and spatial data that simulate physical environments and understand cause-and-effect. Why this matters for immersive artists: * AI that understands installations as environments * Tools that can reason about spatial composition * Real-time adaptive immersive spaces * Blending generative AI with embodied experience If immersive art creates experiences people move through, world-model AI aims to help machines *move through them too*.
