(R) UK/US – 1 hr 43 min 1996 · d. Mary Harron Starring Lili Taylor, Jared Harris, Martha Plimpton, Stephen Dorff Lili Taylor electrifies as brilliant-yet-volatile artist Valerie Solanas, whose attempt on the life of Andy Warhol brought fame to her radically anti-male SCUM Manifesto. Long out of circulation, now newly-restored in 4K, this controversial indie classic from Mary Harron (American Psycho) conjures the energy—and underbelly—of the late ’60s NYC art scene. Director Mary Harron will join us for a post-film conversation, moderated by Alice Bullitt, M.A., BMFI Board Member.
