About this event

Topics will include: Introduction and Safety, Equipment, Shooting Skills, Hunting Skills, Primitive Equipment, General Safety, Ethics and Laws, Survival Skills, Conservation, and Arkansas-specific regulations. There is no specific age requirement to enroll in Hunter Education; however, the educational material is based on a sixth-grade reading level. Arkansas recognizes hunter certification from other states. Arkansas's Hunter Education program is recognized in all states, as well as in Canada and Mexico. Anyone born on or after January 1, 1969, is required to have taken and passed a state-approved Hunter Education Safety Course in order to be legal to hunt in the state of Arkansas. After successfully passing the exam, students will have their Hunter Certification linked to their customer identification number. Registration is free, but required and will be handled by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. The registration link will take you to an external website. For disability accommodations, call 479.856.7250 or email questions@faylib.org 2-3 weekdays before a program. Plan your visit by viewing our building map and details on accessibility services.
