SCHOOL OF ROCK LIVE AT SOBER FEST — KIDS STAGE, BROADSIDE NOLA Turn it up. The School of Rock Metairie / New Orleans House Band is taking over the Kids Stage inside the indoor pavilion at Sober Fest for a full set of straight-up, no-fake-it rock and roll. Riffs, solos, attitude, and a crowd close enough to feel the kick drum. These are real students playing real instruments on a real stage. No tracks, no lip sync, no training wheels. Our House Band spent the whole season at the school building this set piece by piece — learning the parts, locking in with each other, and getting it road-ready — and Broadside NOLA is where it all pays off. Kids who learned to rock by actually rocking. School of Rock Metairie / New Orleans is an extracurricular, performance-based music school with programs for ages 4 through adult. Guitar, bass, drums, keys and vocals, taught in a band and aimed at a stage, because playing live is the part that changes everything. That's the future of music standing up there — and live student performance is a real piece of what keeps this city, and cities everywhere, loud and alive. Sober Fest itself is family friendly, with a Kids Area full of games and activities, food for purchase from local vendors and food trucks, and non-alcoholic beverages for sale with proceeds benefiting Bridge House / Grace House. Lineup coming in September. Tickets are $10 in advance online and $20 at the door, so grab 'em early and save ten bucks.
