HOUSE BAND HITS BROADSIDE NOLA: SCHOOL OF ROCK METAIRIE / NEW ORLEANS LIVE AT BENNARO Three o'clock on a Sunday in Mid-City, the amps come on and a stage full of kids counts off. That's the House Band from School of Rock Metairie / New Orleans, taking over Broadside NOLA for a 40-minute set at Bennaro — real songs, real volume, played by students who earned every note of it. Here's the thing people miss until they see it: these are our students. Not a tribute act, not a backing track. Our House Band is the top tier of the school — kids who auditioned for the spot and have been grinding on this set all season in our rehearsal rooms, learning the parts, learning each other, learning how to hold a crowd. What you'll hear at Broadside NOLA is a season of work walking out under the lights. School of Rock Metairie / New Orleans is an extracurricular, performance-based music school with programs for ages 4 through adult. We teach guitar, bass, drums, keys and vocals the way music actually gets made — in a band, on a stage, in front of people. That's why our students end up on stages all over the New Orleans area instead of only in a practice room, and it's why live student performance matters: this is the next generation of players keeping live music alive here and everywhere else.
