About this event

Aldrich Room. Horror Stories is a book group that reads contemporary and classic horror novels. We meet the first Thursday, bimonthly @ 6:30 in the Aldrich Room and by Zoom. To attend via Zoom, click here. The Shining By Stephen King Stephen King’s The Shining follows Jack Torrance, a struggling writer and recovering alcoholic who takes a winter caretaker job at the isolated Overlook Hotel in the Colorado mountains. Jack, his wife Wendy, and their young son Danny settle in for the long winter, expecting a quiet opportunity for Jack to work and for the family to reconnect. But Danny possesses a mysterious psychic ability that allows him to sense things others cannot, and the hotel itself seems to harbor a dark and unsettling presence. As the winter deepens and the family becomes increasingly isolated, tensions rise and the boundaries between the supernatural and the psychological begin to blur.
