Hops and Topics: Finding Common Ground Over a Pint

**Welcome to the Twin Cities Common Ground Forum Meetup!** This meetup is meant to bring people together from varying walks of life to respectfully learn and discuss issues with one another. For the April meetup, we will meet at a new location inside Lake Monster Brewing in St. Paul. The exact meeting location inside the venue will be posted near the start of the event. The event will begin at 7 PM and last until at least 8:30 PM. **What to Expect:** This event is meant to share ideas and perspectives wherever the conversation leads us. We will kick off with a light ice breaker to get to know each other, followed by group discussion. The organizer will bring a few thought-provoking topics, but you’re encouraged to bring your own ideas too. This event is not meant to be a debate, but a chance to connect, learn, and share perspectives in good faith. I have some simple ground rules to make this event successful: * **Everyone is free to share their perspective** — respect and curiosity go a long way * **Assume good intentions** — we’re all here to learn and grow. * **Let others speak** — everyone deserves space to express their thoughts. * **Remember the algorithm effect** — not everyone has been exposed to the same ideas or news. * **Speak from your own experience** — personal stories > generalizations. * **Criticize ideas, not people** — stay constructive and kind. Here is some other information regarding logistics: **Parking:** There is a large parking lot onsite. No cost to park. **Food:** The may be a food truck onsite, option to order pizza, or purchase snacks at the bar **Drink:** There are several beers and seltzers available including an NA option.
