Homeschool Hub: How to BREAK a Fairy Tale

Children's Program Room. Cumberland Homeschool Hub is our new offering for homeschooled kids and their families. Activities and dates will vary based on staff availability and resources. This month, the Homeschool Hub will dig into fairy tales and create our own. Sometimes we read fairy tales that seem SORT OF familiar... but what happens to a fairy tale when you change an important detail? How do you make a serious fairy tale silly, or a silly fairy tale serious? Is Little Red Ridinghood even the same story if she is wearing a Green Swimming Cap? At this session, Miss Liz and participants will read and discuss fractured fairy tales, then create our own twists on well-known stories. This workshop is for any homeschool kid who can write independently. Registration is required for planning and space purposes. Library homeschool programs are open to all area homeschoolers, and therefore do not subscribe to a specific homeschooling method. These programs provide opportunities and enrichment for families, as opposed to filling a specific slot in individual homeschool curriculums.
