About this event

Come celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and craft your very own Mexican Mirror, a form of folk art known as Hojalata. Hojalata (o-ha-LAH-tah) means tin in Spanish, and it's a traditional Mexican tin art where artisans use their imagination to turn simple, inexpensive tin into beautiful, detailed pieces. Designs often vary by region, and this style of artwork dates back as far as the 1500s. This craft is to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month. From the September 15 through October 15 we use this time to recognize the creative, intellectual, and historical contributions by Hispanic Americans, and to learn about and embrace the Hispanic Americans in our community. Ages 10 and up Registration not required.
