W.T. Bland Public Library (Mount Dora) - Community Room. Adults are invited to learn the short history of modern medicine from Ms. Sharon Griffiths, a retired British National Health Service (NHS) consultant cardiac scientist. Discover the relationship between John Hunter (the father of modern surgery) and Edward Jenner (the father of modern medicine and his discovery of the Smallpox vaccine). There is also a third mystery character whose story intertwines with John Hunter and contributes to the better understanding of disease processes. No registration required.
