Naval historian Ed Moore of the Mariner's Museum discusses a legion of men and women including Blackbeard, Calico Jack, Anne Bonny, Mary Read, and a cast of thousands who cut off the European powers from their Caribbean holdings by waging warfare as professional thieves, and who established the first Democratic Republic in the New World.
