Hiromi: The Trio Project

About this event

There is no one quite like Hiromi. The GRAMMY Award-winning pianist and virtuoso has spent two decades rewriting the rulebook for jazz piano, blending post-bop, progressive rock, and classical technique into something so entirely her own that comparisons fall short. With The Trio Project, Hiromi reunites with legendary English drummer Simon Phillips (Jeff Beck, Judas Priest, Tears for Fears, Toto, and The Who), and they welcome virtuoso bassist James Genus (Herbie Hancock, Whitney Houston, Roy Haynes, Chick Corea, Daft Punk, SNL). BroadStage audiences know Hiromi well, and they know this: no two performances are alike, no note feels predetermined, and by the end of the evening, you’ll understand exactly why she’s considered “one of the most remarkable pianists of the past half century.” (All Music Guide).
