**Please contact Michele directly if you are planning on going and/or have questions at 858-334-8019.** **Oak Canyon/Spring Canyon Plus Kwaay Paay Peak.** **The walk starts past the Old Mission Dam (a nationally registered historic landmark) and follows a stream bed rimmed by coast live oaks. This area is rich in both native plants and animals.** **NOTE: NOT RECOMMENDED IF YOU Hip or Knee Issues** **Rating: Moderate** **Distance: 8+ miles** **Added: Kwaay Paay Peak** **Terrain: rocky, sandy, could be muddy** **Elevation: 700'-900'** **Hiking Poles: recommended for steep downhills** What to bring: Water 3L, sunscreen, hat, gloves, good shoes, snacks to share (we will take a break), camera, ICE (in case of emergency phone #). *Please note the following: **KNOW YOUR LIMITS.*** * *Our organizers are not tour guides, we're not rangers. Going out with us is the same as going out with a few friends. Expect the same risks, take the same precautions.* * *As organizers, we will do our best to give accurate descriptions of the hikes we post.* ***If you're a beginning hiker, a hike's elevation and distance may not mean much to you.
