Hike into History: Lizard Head Pass with Local Naturalist John Sir Jesse discussing the History of the Railroad and the Ames Power Plant Saturday, September 26 2026, 10am Meet in Lawson Hill at the Park & Ride Lot Local naturalist and historian John Sir Jesse will be leading a Hike into History at Lizard Head to explore the history of the railroad and the Ames Power Plant. This is an easy/moderate hike. Snacks, water, and proper footwear are recommended. Meet at the Park & Ride Lot in Lawson Hill (130 Society Dr., Telluride, CO). Carpooling is encouraged as there will be several stops along the way. Excursion will be about 4 hours long.
