HIKE: Cochran Shoals Columns Drive 5.5 miles at Chatt Nat'l Rec. Area - Columns Drive Hiking/Biking Trails in Marietta, GA on Saturday, July 11, 2026.
We'll meet at 9:15 to use facilities and get parking pass. You are late if you get there after 9:15. Introductions at 9:25. We will park at Columns Drive Unit...the other end of what I usually do. I know this well, but it is alittle exploratory as I'm starting from the other end. This hike is definitely not one for beginning hikers or for folks who have done only relatively flat hikes. I won't leave people behind, so the entire group will have to wait for very slow hikers. Please respect others and don't overestimate your ability to handle this hike. There will be mountain biking sharing our trail at times. Come early as parking lot is at a premium. If you don't have an annual pass I suggest buying one on line. all CRNRA parks there are no longer any envelopes and or normal credit card registration. You have to scan the bar code and enter your license plate, etc. etc. It doesn't work on all browsers so you may be doing a little downloading. Come early and be prepared or you won't be able start on time. Though if you are late for this one you only miss the first 1 mile and we will circle back to the parking lot and pick you up. Address and coordinates:.. * Address: 150 Columns Drive SE, Marietta, GA 30067 * GPS Coordinates: 33.921714, -84.444265 $5 parking daily pass is needed, unless you have an annual Chattahoochee River National Recreational Area. Make sure you bring plenty of water and a snack if you need it. Facilities available. prefer no dogs if you see it is a large group, otherwise okay For more info Barbara 667-438-5593
