Henrico Community Authors Showcase

About this event

Come see Shannon Kapadia, author of The House That Hummed. In this debut picture book, a child notices that her house hums when something feels unsettled and discovers that naming what we feel is the first step to finding calm again. Warm, reassuring, and gently imaginative, it's a story for every child who has ever sensed that something was "off" and needed to know they weren't alone. Shannon is a children's book author, attorney, and mom who grew up in Richmond, and is a proud product of Henrico County Public Schools. When she isn't practicing law, or teaching at the University of Richmond School of Law, she's writing stories that help young children make sense of their big feelings. Read, discuss, and connect with other writers and readers in our community. Local authors sign up and share their books. Visit henricolibrary.org/authors for details. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library. The Henrico Community Authors Showcase is a self-service program for local authors. Please note that the Library does not endorse the content, quality, position, or opinions of participating authors or their works. While the library may promote the offering of this service to the community, it is the responsibility of authors to promote their individual showcase events according to the author guidelines.
