About this event

Come see Bill Warhop, author of The Red Acre. In 1981, Mick and Judi flee America's recession for a new life in England and settle into an idyllic farmhouse on the mysterious Bodmin Moor. When tragedy strikes, they draw closer to their neighbors who lost a son in an accident four years ago. As they pull back the veil on a centuries-old conspiracy of phantoms and witchcraft, an evil awakens in a dark wood locals call the Red Acre. Bill will give a talk called "Warding Off Evil; The Symbols, Superstitions, and Rituals of The Red Acre " covering seventeenth-century practices and beliefs behind his debut horror novel as part of this event. Bill Warhop worked in the nineties at an independent bookstore in Atlanta- the best job he ever had. He spent a decade of his twenty-five years as an editor polishing other people's books. He currently lives in Lakeside. Read, discuss, and connect with other writers and readers in our community. Local authors sign up and share their books. Visit henricolibrary.org/authors for details. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library. The Henrico Community Authors Showcase is a self-service program for local authors. Please note that the Library does not endorse the content, quality, position, or opinions of participating authors or their works. While the library may promote the offering of this service to the community, it is the responsibility of authors to promote their individual showcase events according to the author guidelines.
