Harmonies from Their Homeland, presented by Entwyned Early Music, brings America’s 250th anniversary to life through music from the countries of the early colonists. The program also explores the African musical traditions that profoundly influenced the developing sounds of America. Performed on beautiful reproduction historical instruments—including lutes, harps, Renaissance and Baroque flutes, guitars, and viola da gamba—the program combines live music with fascinating stories, historical details, and captivating images. Discover how the sounds of many cultures came together to create the beginnings of American music.
