About this event
97 min • Documentary Feature • USA • 2026 As one of history’s most celebrated artists, Jean-Michel Basquiat left an indelible mark in the art world and beyond. From major art museum exhibits to murals and fashion trends, Basquiat’s audacious legacy continues to be shaped and preserved by the public—but what about the person behind the mythical persona? Nearly four decades after his untimely death, Basquiat’s sisters Lisane and Jeanine embark on a disarmingly intimate journey into his life. Drawing on personal archives, never-before-seen works, and many voices of those who knew him best, this luminous documentary allows Jean-Michel to finally guide his own story. A Netflix release.
