About this event
127 min • Narrative Feature • USA • 2026 In the follow-up to her Academy Award® Best Picture winner CODA, Siân Heder adapts the memoir of unrepentant disability rights activist Judith Heumann to tell the story of a coalition of outsiders who led a historic 28-day occupation of San Francisco’s Federal Building in 1977. In a fight for accessibility laws and equal rights, the movement’s resilient leaders struggle to pave a path forward and bring rebellion to the hallowed halls of bureaucracy. Starring Ruth Madeley as Heumann and Mark Ruffalo as the lawmaker standing in their way, this biopic is a stirring and deeply human story of pulling off the impossible to change the lives of millions.
