About this event

Join guides from Guma' Imahe for this unique learning and crafting experience rooted in the Chamorro and Pacific Islander languages and cultures. Participants (ages 5 and up) will learn about the history, meaning, and cultural significance of the traditional head crowns, Hento and Mwar Mwar. Using a hands-on approach, we will be crafting and assembling our own adornments while practicing the traditional techniques used to create these pieces. Come make and take home your very own piece of Chamorro culture! Presented by Guma' Imahe, hosted by Tacoma Public Library, and funded by Tacoma Creates - a program of the City of Tacoma.
