October 18 – December 20, 2026 Reception and artist talk: Thursday October 29th 5-7pm Hours: Sundays 2pm – 5pm, $8 Adults, $5 Kids Location: Chicago Gamespace, 2418 W Bloomingdale Ave, Chicago, IL Chicago Gamespace is pleased to present a solo exhibition by Chicago-based designer and artist Grace Spee. Through risograph prints, artist books, and sculpture, Spee’s work draws from the visual language of survival horror video games such as Silent Hill and Resident Evil. Her work examines how these games evoke feelings of vulnerability and fear through Gothic environments, female protagonists, and the careful management of scarce resources. The exhibition features two hand-printed artist books inspired by the Silent Hill series, a large-scale articulated paper doll incorporating imagery from classic survival horror games, and a selection of game-inspired risograph prints. A playable copy of the original Silent Hill provides historical context for the work, while a recorded talk by Spee on typography in video games offers additional insight into her research and design practice. Grace Spee is a Chicago-based designer, educator, and clinical assistant professor in the UIC School of Design.
