Dahlonega's largest festival marks the town's 1828 gold discovery with arts, crafts and food vendors around the square, live music, a Saturday morning 5K, contests like hog calling, pie eating and cross-cut sawing, and the Gold Rush Parade on Saturday afternoon. Peak fall color is usually close.
