GMALL Presents – What Happened to Liberal Democracy?

Green Mountain Academy welcomes economist, Peter Radford, to talk about the vulnerability of liberal democracy in our country. By definition liberal democracy, also called Western-style democracy, is a system of government that combines free and fair elections with legal protections for individual rights and limits on government power. American democracy is under strain from many directions. Between the rise of the “unitary executive” theory, the pull of money and corporate influence, and a widening cultural schism, many wonder whether liberal democracy in America has disappeared. Has it? If so, what do we do, and what comes next? This program is free and open to all – or pay what you wish to support Green Mountain Academy at a level that feels right to you.
