Ginger Snaps: Presented by Maggie Mae Fish + Q&A w/ Morgana Ignis

About this event

Growing up is hell. Growing up a werewolf is worse. Our Nu-Classics series, hosted by the amazing Maggie Mae Fish, is sinking its teeth into the cult classic Ginger Snaps! And this month, Maggie is joined by super special guest Morgana Ignis for a post-screening discussion! Ginger and Brigitte Fitzgerald are sisters who have always been obsessed with death…and determined to face adolescence on their own terms. But after Ginger is bitten by a mysterious creature on the night of her first period, her body begins changing in ways neither sister can explain. John Fawcett’s 2000 Canadian horror classic is a wickedly smart spin on the werewolf movie, turning puberty, sisterhood, sexuality, and the fear of growing up into one gloriously bloody transformation. It has earned its place as a modern horror classic, and one of the sharpest coming-of-age movies to ever sink its teeth into the genre.
