As we approach the 10-year anniversary of the Ghost Ship fire, Vital Arts invites you to gather for the Ghost Ship Symphony, a memorial event at Grace Cathedral on December 4, 2026. The evening will feature the premiere of a symphonic composition by Two-Spirit Mestiza musician Alexandrea Archuleta, a fire survivor and artist slated to perform the night of the tragedy. To transform her grief, Archuleta has created Symphony No. 1… And no one died, thus we began to see in the dark, commissioned by Vital Arts. Local musicians will come together to perform the piece and honor the lives lost in this heartbreaking event that has continued to reshape the artistic landscape in the Bay Area and beyond since 2016. Bay Area artists Lunaxix and Zachary James Watkins will be opening the evening with original work. In addition to the performances, community members will also be invited to contribute to an altar that will be open to the public starting on December 2, the official anniversary of the Ghost Ship fire.
